Elements Of The J|E Hub Solution
J|E Hub is a complete job evaluation solution. It includes the:

- Input: Experience, Knowledge, Integration, Analysis
- Interact: Peer Contact, External Contact, Employee Contact
- Impact: People Impact, Financial Impact, Time Impact
Click for more information on how these 10 factors are defined.
- Job evaluation process including the software tool which facilitates the job evaluation process. Built on Microsoft Excel, the J|E Hub software tool allows users to conduct job evaluation and associated analyses in a fast and efficient manner.
- Training of relevant managers and employees involved in the job evaluation process. Training sessions are designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they require to confidently and competently understand, perform and manage their job evaluation responsibilities. These sessions are conducted in an engaging and interactive learning environment and they allow participants access to experts in the specialist field of job evaluation.
- Audits of job evaluations. This element of the J|E Hub solution is relevant only to those organisations that opt to manage the job evaluation process internally within their organisation. Each year a portion of the job evaluations will be audited by a Hewitt CSi consultant to ensure the consistency of the job evaluations.
- Annual updates of pay lines and information used within J|E Hub. These updates ensure you have the latest data upon which to base your decisions.
Typical J|E Hub Project Plan
A typical J|E Hub project will include the following stages:
- Consultation: Initial consultation involves Hewitt CSi consultants meeting with the organisation's key stakeholders and discussing a detailed project plan for the J|E Hub implementation.
- Job Analysis: The process of determining the nature of the contents of the organisation's jobs. Job analysis is required before job evaluation can be done. It is typically done via interviews with managers or employees. However, if position descriptions are of an acceptable standard they may be used as the basis of the job analysis together with phone calls to managers/employees for clarification.
- Job Evaluation: Job Evaluation is the process of determining the size of an organisation's jobs. The J|E Hub software solution enables this process to be done with relative ease. Hewitt CSi's job evaluation methodology is based on 10 job factors which are grouped into three elements; Input, Interact, Impact.
- Training: An essential element for successful incorporation of a job evaluation system within an organisation. Typically there will be at least two job evaluators who successfully complete a one day J|E Hub certification course. Hewitt CSi also offers half day J|E Hub overview sessions for managers and other stakeholders.
- Remuneration Data: To ensure an organisation's pay decisions are competitive, Hewitt CSi can link market remuneration survey data directly to an organisation's job evaluation results. Remuneration information can be entered in by the organisation itself or the J|E Hub can be setup by Hewitt CSi with all relevant data supplied.
- Software Customisations: J|E Hub is built on MS Excel and therefore can be customised to suit the unique needs of an organisation (i.e. customised graphs, statistics, tables, etc.). The standard banding and grading within the J|E Hub can also be customised to incorporate existing organisational bands or grades.
- Implementation & Consulting: In order to successfully implement the job evaluation system, Hewitt CSi can provide communication strategies and consultant reports for submission to senior management or remuneration committees regarding proposed job evaluation and remuneration systems.
- Job Evaluation Audits: To ensure the integrity of J|E Hub after the initial implementation, Hewitt CSi requires that the job evaluations are audited annually.
- Pay Line Updates: On an annual or biannual basis Hewitt CSi provides an updated pay line based on the latest remuneration survey statistics to ensure market comparisons remain current.
