Responsible for
Defining software requirements and specifications and developing and/or maintaining software programs. |

Reports To
Software Project Manager or Senior Systems Analyst. |

Supervises
May supervise one or more Programmers. |

Main Activities
Analysing software requirements and defining program parameters and specifications.
Writing, testing and maintaining software programs according to specifications.
Documenting developed programs.
Ensuring that programs meet marketing/user requirements by testing and monitoring initial field use and problems.

Key Skills
Developed level skills in the design and programming of commercial software.
Good conceptual ability and skills in analysis and problem solving.
Good knowledge of company products. Interpersonal skills are important.

Customers at operational and management levels, distributors, and sub-contractors. |

Typical Experience
At least 3-4 years in software development and programming, with generally 1 or more years at Analyst Programmer level. |

This is the traditional Analyst Programmer role. It may have a senior above it in the structure. |
