Responsible for
Developing effective network security solutions across all components of designated platforms, and responding to security threats. |

Reports To
Professional Services Manager. |

Supervises
May provide mentoring to more junior Consultants. |

Main Activities
Providing specialised security skills and services to ensure that the use of chosen security solutions are maximised to protect all aspects of software, communications, networks, application systems, databases and data on the nominated platform(s).
Providing security consultation to technical and business clients.
Reviewing new products/systems for security exposures, implementing these into existing environments and providing quality solutions.
Developing security tools (when required) to provide security solutions.
Consulting with clients on policy and strategy involving any aspect of network security.
Evaluating new security software and systems and making recommendations on the acquisition of improved security technology.
Developing or contributing to development of security standards, controls, and procedures.
Responding to security threats (incident management).

Good technical skills (intrusion detection, penetration tasking, firewall configuration) for nominated platform(s).

Good interpersonal and consultative skills.
An understanding of the law as it relates to IT.

Typical Experience
At least 5 years of experience in IT Security or IT Auditing with prior experience in Systems or Software. Computer Science Degree or equivalent together with specialised training in new technologies and legacy systems. |
