Responsible for
Managing regulatory advice and support, managing relations with governments and regulators in connection with regulatory issues and interfacing with third parties within and outside the region on all regulatory issues.
 
Reports To
Divisional Manager.
 
Supervises
Regulatory Affairs Officers.
 
Main Activities
  • Developing and maintaining an effective organisation capable of addressing key regulatory issues in the region and implementing the relevant aims and responsibilities.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Government authorities and other Regulatory authorities and key opinion formers in the region.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to the organisation on regulatory issues affecting the provision of services in the region.
  • Leading negotiations with Governments or Regulators for licenses or other regulatory permission requested by the company.
  • Acting as the region's source of reliable information for other offices overseas with reports of other key regulatory developments.

    Typical Experience
    At least 10 years of legal experience in a commercial environment, with extensive experience in telecommunications and other utility industry regulation, as well as leadership exposure. Advanced commercial and competition law practice skills, both nationally and internationally.
