Responsible for
Providing consultancy services covering all aspects of voice and data Communications services in a large organisation. |

Reports To
Communications Services Manager. |

Supervises
May mentor Communications Engineers. |
| |
Main Activities
Designing, enhancing and maintaining corporate and regional Communications networks availability and performance and fault rectification.
Investigating, designing, and preparing technical specifications.
Creating and maintaining technical documents, reports and records requirements with systems solutions.
Providing expert, escalated support on voice/data Communications equipment, services and facilities to users at all levels.
Analysing tenders, supervising acceptance tests and commissioning voice/data Communications systems and equipment.
Acting as an interface between suppliers/carriers/vendors and the organisation regarding high level technical issues.
Providing guidelines for training in use and maintenance of Telecommunications equipment systems and facilities.

Key Skills
Specialist skills in communications, including the ability to support a variety of systems/infrastructure across more than one of the Communications disciplines (Voice, Data or Image).
Good knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to Communications.
Strong understanding of technical innovations in the Communications sphere, including satellite and wireless technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
Intermediate project management skills.

Typical Experience
